The Atlantic slave trade was abolished more than a century and a half ago; Jim Crow laws were abolished more than half a century ago; South African apartheid was abolished more than twenty years ago. Presumably if white people were “supreme” in America, then they (we) would have been able to hold back SOME of the steady, more than century-long dismantling of these institutions. We’ve long been saying that “white hostility toward black Americans is just not a big problem anymore.” Professor Johnson stops short of that, but OBVIOUSLY contradicts the Race Grievance Industry’s principal notion: that white hostility toward black Americans PREVENTS black Americans from achieving success in America.
