Guess what: Dmitri Solzhenitsyn, the grandson of the great, great Aleksandr Solzhenitsysn, now works for… National Review!
Sometimes we get welcome outside confirmation that we’re publishing the right things, and that we’re not being too hard on the scoundrels, idiots, and power-mad corruptocrats of the American Left and the Democrat Party leadership. 🙂
A leftist does the math,” and comes to the conclusion that Michael Bloomberg could “easily afford to give everyone $1 million dollars and literally never notice.” She tweets that out.
An MSNBC “news” show with Brian Williams — prominent “news” man who was fired for, well, lying — and his colleague Mara Gay, discussed the tweet — on national television! — and treated the million dollar number as if it were a real fact. The real number, however, if distributed among all 327 million Americans would be… $1.53.
The million dollar number is off by a factor of… more than 650,000.
Where does the Democrat Party find these despicable creeps? And why don’t they leave them under those rocks? Maybe a better question is: why do the vicious degenerates and goons always find their way into the Democrat Party?
The answer to that is pretty easy: the well-known Democrat Party agenda is a putrescent witch’s brew of initiatives, programs and policy prescriptions all designed to concentrate power and wealth in the hands of a tiny, deeply corrupt élite at the top of the central government. You can join the Democrat Party as a starry-eyed idealist, but you can’t stay in it without progressively surrendering your basic human decency. To get to the very tippety-top of the Democrat Party you have to surrender your humanity entirely.
We can be all nice and civilized to them… after we beat them. Kind of like how in World War II we bombed the crap out of Dresden, Hamburg and Tokyo. The régimes in Nazi Germany and Tokyo needed to go away, and the amputations needed to be cauterized. So they were. Then we were nice, very nice actually, with the populations of those countries after the war.
That was, and remains, the only morally correct, strategically effective way to treat hellishly barbarous régimes and terrorist organizations.
Socialism is the neutron bomb of political ideologies: it slaughters people, while leaving buildings and structures intact.
The agencies serve the people and were created by the people’s elected representatives. They are the people’s instruments, not their masters. Their preferences and conveniences are not to be understood as the controlling concerns.
Will Smollett go to jail for his disgusting racist crime? Or will Chicago law enforcement again bend over backward to try not to look racist or homophobic? The Left have already done what they can to say, “Well, it wasn’t right, what he did, but you can certainly understand it!” Nope. I can’t. If you can understand perpetrating a fraud that you know will cause harm to millions of innocent people, in order to get more money, then you have a serious problem. Smollett’s crime proved pretty conclusively that the basic premise on which he committed it is false. In a truly oppressive country, you don’t need to fabricate oppression. It’s a feature of the system.
There’s a marked increase in hostility on the Right, directed to the Right. However, if the Left were ever to engage in any kind of in-depth introspection, leftism would fall apart like the intellectual house-of-cards it is. It would become nothing more than a vast collection of tiny, spluttering splinter groups feuding and scrapping over tiny niche issues, well below the radar of a media corps too power-hungry to focus on such penny-ante flapdoodle.
“The notion that conservatives are the dogmatists and progressives are the free-thinkers is one of the greatest triumphs in the history of the intellectual marketing of bullsh**. Conservatives simply acknowledge that we have dogma, that some questions are settled, and that while they can be questioned or revisited, the amount of new evidence required to overturn them should be monumental and decisive, not faddish and rationalized in the emotions of the moment.”
She was so very young! I know what you’re thinking: Some exotic mixture of narcotics and alcohol that she was trying out for the first time. Stupid, irresponsible kid! How could she? Or else, she was mixed up in some emotional entanglement or other with a married man, got caught and realized that her public persona so contrasted with her private life that she was forever tarnished. Or she got drunk one day and drove her car off a bridge. We’re always so quick to blame young people for their own deaths when they die. It was none of the above.
Now, mind you, I don’t often disagree with the Great Kevin Williamson, because that moniker — the Great — is well deserved. Williamson is one of the finest, most intelligent, deepest observers of the local and world scenes.
And how many times have we said in these very pages that we need to go nuclear on the Left. Yes, yes, yes… I called it “Rhetorical Jiu-jitsu,” but it means the same thing: “going nuclear on their a##.” Continue reading Powerful, Influential People Read This Blog
You can’t blame Trump for Democrats believing that Brett Kavanaugh ran a rape gang in high school. Nor can you blame Trump for all of the liberals who know it must be a lie and refuse to say so. That’s on them. Continue reading Great Quote by Jonah Goldberg!
Capitalism is mostly about allowing systems and structures to develop and grow organically. In other words: free people using free choices to show other free people how much they value, or don’t, their products and services.
In Venezuela, one of the natural resource-richest countries… in the world, the people have no food or toilet paper. So, to make things better for them, their government guns them down in the streets. Why? Well, the people are quite naturally wondering why, with all the natural resources their country has… they have no toilet paper or food. When they express those concerns in public the government solves their petty complaints by adding a few grams of lead to their diet. Continue reading The Catastrophic Failure that is Socialism
Leftist ideas are old, fat, flaccid, weak, feeble. It’s because those ideas go unchallenged in all the places where they should be most vigorously challenged: academia, the press, Hollywood, pop culture. While Conservative ideas are attacked from all those same angles, as well as from others, as soon as they emerge. The result: we on the Right are constantly honing, and adjusting, and re-adjusting, and adding and discarding, testing, testing and re-testing, until we have something that’s coherent and makes sense. We actually like to test out ideas, because we love the challenge of actually solving problems. The Left wants power. Continue reading Why The Right Always Wins Arguments With The Left
Our problem on the Right is that we want desperately to think leftists are simply good, but misguided, people. Nope. They’re actually bad people. They mean to do you and me harm, both in order to take power AND to reshape America into their vision of what’s good and right: a country in which they hold the reins of power. The struggle, as far as the Left is concerned, is to the death. We need to be aware of that, and we need to recognize the implications of that. On the Left, at least at the leadership levels, they don’t care if we, and others, die. In fact, that wouldn’t bother them in the least. Leftist leaders are simply bad people. Continue reading Lessons From the Left — or: Leftists are Child Molesters
The reason Joy Reid accused David French of harboring the desire to see “Democrats and minorities” killed in a nuclear war is that SHE HERSELF hopes to see white people killed in massive numbers. It follows then, that since SHE indulges in that grotesque fantasy, she assumes that EVERYONE ELSE has the same hideous, gruesome feelings as she has. They don’t. Continue reading The Ugliness of the RGI/Leftist Mind
I’m not sure that the Trump Presidency is worse than what, with another Republican, likely would have been just an interregnum between the Obama Presidency and the next horror-show Democrat President. Furthermore, don’t forget: lovable, corrupt, witless old Bernie Sanders made it okay to call oneself a Socialist again. That means that the Democrat Party field for President in upcoming primaries will no longer, for the foreseeable future, be lacking an avowedly Socialist candidate for the Presidency. Great. –> Continue reading Yet Another Masterful Column from Jonah Goldberg — and Some Discussion

“Rathi actually had the nerve to tout his support for free speech in the exact same piece where he seems to suggest that it’s a good thing to limit speech when it comes to people like Yiannopoulos and Coulter — and he somehow thought that this kind of logically inconsistent drivel was actually cohesive enough to publish. ”

I wonder what NPR would have thought of, say, someone who hypothetically became a Conservative legend after having financed his magazine with counterfeit money. What if NPR found out, for example, that William F. Buckley had used a million bucks in counterfeit cash to launch National Review? Do you think NPR would have thought that was just a clever bunch of people finding a clever way to launch their Conservative media empire? Or, do you think rather that NPR might have been in scornful high dudgeon, insisting that the right-winger was really nothing more than a criminal, and a fraud?
Yeah… that last is a lot more likely. Continue reading NPR Watch (4/20/17) – NPR Speaks Approvingly of Grand Theft
