What was most striking about this election cycle was the tsunami of accusations of hate, fascism, intolerance, totalitarianism, authoritarianism, denial of rights, corruption and violence coming from the left… all accompanied by a vast wave of hate, fascism, intolerance, totalitarianism, authoritarianism, denial of rights, corruption and violence… also coming from the Left.
Another thing that interested me, as a regular Trump critic, this past election go ’round: I kept hearing from Democrat voters and leftists in general, that Trump was a “dictator,” that his Presidency was a “dictatorship,” that he was a “tyrant,” and that he was “taking away everyone’s rights.”
Okay. What rights? Name one.
Margaret Thatcher said: “The facts of life are Conservative,” to which I countered, “But society’s white noise is leftist.” And it is. It takes a real effort to go against the tsunami of leftist messaging that washes constantly over all Americans, to become only an independent thinker, much less a contrarian.
