Go ahead… I dare you: find something to complain about in this recording.
Jimmy Rosenberg (really interesting life story) is just fantastic. He always has been. This was my introduction to Federico Britos, and I can’t wait to find out more about him.
Britos is ummmm… really good in the above-linked recording. This is not an easy thing to play, for guitarist or violinist.
I have to chuckle at the telephone at about 5:00 into the video. Much too funny! And it gives a real, home-grown, in-the-living-room feeling to the whole thing. Just great!
Oh yes… it’s the indescribably great Frank Vignola, one of the greatest guitarists ever to walk God’s green Earth, who turns this recording over to Jimmy and Federico.
Nota Bene: Watch (and listen to, of course) Jimmy’s left-hand technique at the end of this gorgeous song. Some of the best I’ve ever seen. I’m a really good guitarist, and I can’t do chord transitions like that.
