I Just Love Lynda Randle!

A (not so) secret (not so) guilty pleasure of mine is gospel music. I just love Lynda Randle’s voice… and her demeanor and her presence.

Here’s an example: Bill & Gloria Gaither – One Day At a Time [Live] ft. Lynda Randle

Here’s some of it:

One day at a time, sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking of you
Just gigve me the strength
to do every day what I have to do.

Yesterday’s gone, sweet Jesus
and tomorrow may never be mine
Oh, help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.

Yep. That’s what I’m all about, and Lynda Randle sings it out really nicely!

Great voice, sweet woman, I love how she sings!

Here’s another favorite of mine by this wonderful singer: I’m Free [Live]. The great David Phelps joins in at the end of that one. His job with the Gaither ensemble is to bring the audience to its feet. Guys watching this video fall at least a little bit in love with Lynda at the end, seeing the beatific expression on her face.

And one more: God On the Mountain [Live].

Yep, I love Lynda Randle.

  1. You said it, Wally! I hope he’s dispensed with the perm.

What a voice, though, eh?!? One thing I’m pretty certain of: It’s probably not possible to maintain that kind of range over a lot of years. It’ll be one of the things I miss the most about gospel, David Phelps when he comes back to earth.

    1. I remember him talking about that on a Gaither Special, the Best of David Phelps. He was talking about this one song that had this crazy high note and how he couldn’t do it just constantly. I bet I have that in my DVR..may have to watch it!

        1. Hmm can’t seem to find it; I be my wife deleted it lol. She’s not a huge David Phelps fan. Loves him in the Gaither Vocal Band, but can’t stand to watch just him. Weird.

I do have the Lynda Randle special, though.

          1. Oh, well. I’m sure we’ll stumble across it on YouTube or something.

I love those Gaither specials too.

There’s something about a bunch of good singers full-throatedly, sometimes tearfully, singing about Jesus.

And I just flat-out love it when someone like David Phelps brings the crowd to its feet in the middle of the song! Chills up and down the spine time!

And: Lump in the throat time. Gratitude time. Humility time.
