NPR Watch – 7/19/16 – “Hard Right”

Bottom Line: The entire leadership of the American left, and its political wing, the Democrat Party are way, way, way further to the left than any prominent Conservative is to the right.

Language matters.

Listening to National Public Radio (NPR) on the way into work this morning. The host interviewed Sam Donaldson, retired ABC “news”caster, and Cokie Roberts, longtime NPR commentator, about the first day of the Republican Party’s national convention.

Three times Donaldson used the phrase, “hard right,” when speaking of American Conservatives.

When, pray tell, was the last time you heard anyone in American media — anyone at all! — use the term “hard left” when speaking of American liberals? Never? Me either. And I pay attention. Close attention.

Yet, it’s pretty plain: the entire leadership of the American left, and its political wing, the Democrat Party are way, way, way further to the left than any prominent Conservative is to the right.
