Black Lives Matter!

Except, apparently, to black people, who continue to vote for Democrats, to whom black lives don’t matter more than a plugged nickel, except insofar as they represent votes.

Mark my words: As soon as blacks show the slightest inclination to tip over to voting Republican, the Democrats will throw black people overboard like a mother tosses a messy diaper. The Democrats will say it’s for the same reason.

Black Americans should take Stephen Smith’s advice, and try voting Republican and see what happens.(1)

(1) – Here’s the text of the post:

NASHVILLE, TN – On Tuesday, ESPN regular Stephen A. Smith spoke at the Impact Symposium at Vanderbilt University on the topic of “How You See It: Perceptions of (In)Equality.”

Smith believes that every black person in America should vote Republican at least once so that both parties could address their interests.

“What I dream is that for one election, just one, every black person in America vote Republican,” he said. “Because from what I’ve read, and I’m open to correction, but from what I’ve read, Barry Goldwater is going against Lyndon B. Johnson. He’s your Republican candidate. He is completely against the Civil Rights Movement. Lyndon B. Johnson was in favor of it. What happens is, he wins office, Barry Goldwater loses office, but there was a senate, a Republican senate, that pushed the votes to the president’s desk. It was the Democrats who were against Civil Rights legislation. So because President Lyndon B. Johnson was a Democrat, black America assumed the Democrats were for it.”

He also added, “Black folks in America are telling one party, ‘We don’t give a damn about you.’ They’re telling the other party ‘You’ve got our vote.’ Therefore, you have labeled yourself ‘disenfranchised’ because one party knows they’ve got you under their thumb. The other party knows they’ll never get you and nobody comes to address your interest.” [Editor’s note: red emphasis added. We’ve noted these things in these pages as well.]

    1. Actually, I do.

The whole “Black Lives Matter” movement makes it all about race.

I consider all Americans, simply, Americans.

I don’t know if you were paying attention, but when some politicians tried to say, “Yes, black lives matter, all lives matter” the Black Lives Matter goons shouted them down and they — since they were Democrats — had to eat their words.

If you read closely, you’ll notice that my position is, indeed, that black lives matter.

I point out, however, that black lives don’t matter to the other black people murdering black Americans wholesale in American cities, or to the American Democrat Party which has run — lock, stock and barrel — nearly all the major American cities for more than three generations.

      Best,

      1. I said why don’t you lead by example.
That means STOP with the black this and black that, especially in the tone you write.
You think you are beating some sort of Brotherly Drum?
Well, you are not. Such posts are laced with negative stereo typical language.
I do read closely and this is why I am calling you out on it.
It matters not who these ”goons” are you simply perpetrate the status quo by using such language and terminology.
And to link black people with you r Hated Democrats simply exacerbates this.
        Perhaps you should reconsider?

          Response:

There are many ways to lead by example. In America we have been allowing goons, thugs and idiots run roughshod over the general discourse for decades. I choose not to roll over anymore. That is leading by example.

In other words: “Stop using terminology that everyone else uses?” No good point in that. So, no, I won’t.

          Response:

Don’t like my language? Okay. I’ll stop using stereotypes when the racist goons on the other (debating) side stop it. Deal? Direct your enthusiasm for a civil discourse in that direction, Ark; they’ve been doing it for decades. We on the right are only awakening slowly to the fact that if the other side insists on playing in the mud, then we can’t remain all prissy.

And, I have no idea what: “You think you are beating some sort of Brotherly Drum?” means.

          Response:

Then you didn’t read closely enough. If you check, you’ll notice that my oeuvre consists of, among other things, many, many calls for the slaughter of black Americans by other black Americans to stop. The American political right wing is the only political tendency for which black lives actually do matter.

          Response:

Surely you mean “perpetuate?” For crying out loud, Ark! Between your and Zande’s carelessness with words, I’m constantly having to make interpretations. Yes, there is a context in which “perpetrate” could work, and it would mean something vastly different from “perpetuate.” I’ll answer as if you meant “perpetuate”: Hogwash. My language and terminology are accurate and understandable by anyone I would wish to read the post.

          Response:

I don’t link black Americans to the Democrat Party (whom I don’t hate, by the way — don’t put words into my mouth), they do it themselves. They vote in an absurdly high percentage — always 85%-95% — for Democrat candidates for elective office at all levels. They’ve been doing that for generations. This despite the fact that all the racist institutions in the history of this country — slavery, segregation, the Ku Klux Klan, Jim Crow Laws, opposition to Civil Rights — were all either openly created or perpetuated by the Democrat Party. Face it, the Democrat Party owns the black vote, and the Democras treat black Americans as though they’re perfectly confident that they will get their votes over and over and over and over and over again. And they do.

I always do. Though, you haven’t given me a persasive case that I should change my mind.
