First of all, let’s take a moment and try to fathom the horror of all that loss of life. What a horrible, horrible thing. I can’t get my head around this thing, and I pray that God will take each of those souls, no exceptions, gently into His hands in Paradise.
It turns out that it was a “fishing boat” carrying those 700 people fleeing the hellish situation in North Africa.
A “fishing boat?” What kind of “fishing boat” — that’s not named the QE2 — carries seven hundred people?!?
And, if there are regularly 700 people “migrating” to Europe in whatever boat they can catch, as recent news reports seem to suggest, that’s not “migration,” that’s an invasion.
From a public policy perspective, Italy — and the rest of the EU countries — can’t take on massive low-skilled immigration from North African hellholes. Europe is in dire economic straits already.
