This Is Why We Have Elections | National Review Online.

Just another outstanding column from Kevin Williamson. Ho hum.

I really don’t  like to link you too frequently to someone else’s column, but Williamson is so frequently truly intelligent that it would be irresponsible not to point out his work.

What Williamson does, better I think than all others, is bring perspective. And I read the work of Jonah Goldberg, Mark Steyn, Ann Coulter and other masters of the written analytical word.

In the world of politics, some things look really bad, and some things look really good. Generally, though, all things tend to be a complex mash-up of the good, the bad, the ugly, and opportunities for using them to advance your agenda whatever that may be.

No one is better at identifying all those elements in all things political, than Kevin Williamson. For that reason alone, you always do a good thing for yourself if you read his columns… no matter the topic.
