Happy First Day of Spring!

As you know, I live in Connecticut. We’ve been bombarded by snow for the last couple of months.

As a youngster, I used to love the snow and all the fun that could be had in it.

Lately, though, as responsibilities have replaced fun in my perception of snow, I have come to dislike it. I miss the childish perception!

So, I needed to replace the less happy perspective with another, better one. Here it is: February 14th is not only Valentines’ Day, it’s also the first day of Spring.

Seriously.

Here’s how

  • February 14th is the halfway point through February.
  • February, the second month, is an even number month.
  • Using the rule of “Round Half to Odd,” you can round 2/14 to 3/1, or March 1st.
  • March 1st is the first day of meteorological Spring.

Voilà!

February 14th is not only Valentine’s Day, it’s also the first day of Spring.

Well! Since it’s Spring, things are looking up already!

  1. While not sure I agree, I get to experience Connecticut for the first time this week… interested to see if it is right for me and my future. Thanks for your post.
